Okay all I really have to say is I want to advocate for men looking a little bit ‘zesty’ in the gym. Cis het specific. (And if that the term/abbreviation ‘cis het’ is unfamiliar to you it basically means you are a sr8 boy and identify as one too). Please stop role playing a hammer banging a thick nail into a wall. Your shallow minds thinking doing this is gay and fruity and whatever is holding you back like the stiff, fused discs in your spine. They are holding your back, you are FUSING yourself into a plank. Think fluid, rhythm, smooth, liquid… Grinnndd NOT hammer, grind not hammer. Grind like you’re in an Andrew Tate Hustle n’ Grind podcast. Grind like you work in Silicon Valley. grrrinnnndd muthafuccccka. Get on your hands and knees like the lil biyctch you are and practice for me this:
Inhale, be COW. Arch your back; imagine reaching the space between the top of your head and your tailbone as far away as possible from one another. Moo sounds like a cow if you want too also. lol.
*Focus on the upper back moving mostly to avoid too much pressure in your lower back. BUT if you’re a stiff piece of ply would then I suggest you push into whatever range you can find then gradually scale back.
Exhale, be a CAT. Reverse that arch; tuck your tail bone under you/tuck your pelvis under you, push the floor away from your hands so much that your upper back also curves away from the floor. You look like a bridge now, a really curve bridge. Let your head hang heavy to the floor, keep pushing away almost like you could suck your own dick.
Repeat a few times (minimum 10 to start). Make it a daily habit.
Try it before a workout. And after! Your back and hips will thank you for it. And more importantly, so will whoever’s cheeks you’re clapping.
TIPS: engage your core throughout to support your spine in these motions. Imagine this:
the sides of your waist drawing in, your ribcage drawing together + down and your pubic bone lifting up + slightly in towards your belly.
